Just think about all the things we've yet to accomplish with technology. We could create a machine that records our dreams, or a cure for cancer, or a universal translating device, or something of such awesome power and wonder that it brings an end to all war and human suffering.
Alternatively, we could create a bunch of floating robots programmed to play a version of the James Bond theme so awful that even Eric Serra wouldn't have let it near his GoldenEye score.
Imagine that.
